The Georgia State Panthers hope to carry over some momentum from their fourth quarter against James Madison this past weekend when they host the Old Dominion Monarchs.
Georgia State (1-8, 1-5 CAA) staged a furious fourth quarter rally against heavily favored James Madison on Saturday before falling just short. The Panthers trailed 28-7 early in the final frame before scoring two touchdowns to close the gap to 28-21. However, the Panthers would not make it any closer. The seven-point loss was the first single-digit loss for the Panthers this season.
Things will not get any easier for Georgia State, as Old Dominion brings a 7-1 record (4-1 CAA) to the Georgia Dome this Saturday. The Monarchs escaped with a 31-26 win over Delaware on Saturday. Sophomore quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 36-of-45 passes for 375 yards. Earlier this season, Heinicke set a Division I-record 730 yards passing in a win over New Hampshire.
Kickoff for Georgia State and Old Dominion is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.
