The Georgia State Panthers wrapped up their 2012 season with a 51-7 loss to Maine on Saturday, which was their fourth in a row. The Panthers finished with a 1-7 record in Colonial Athletic Association play, though they were not eligible to win the league championship anyway.
Both Georgia State and Old Dominion -- which is currently tied for first place -- are ineligible because they are leaving the CAA for other conferences. Georgia State is headed to the Sun Belt in 2013, while ODU is moving to Conference USA.
With Old Dominion disqualified, New Hampshire is in position to claim the league title. The Wildcats own a 6-1 league record, which has them a game ahead of the group of four teams tied at 5-2. Here are the complete CAA football standings:
T1. Old Dominion (6-1 conference record)
T1. New Hampshire (6-1)
T3. James Madison (5-2)
T3. Richmond (5-2)
T3. Towson (5-2)
T3. Villanova (5-2)
7. Maine (3-4)
8. Delaware (2-5)
9. William & Mary (1-6)
10. Georgia State (1-7)
11. Rhode Island (0-7)
