The Georgia St. Panthers have picked up the commitment of 6'2, 255 lb defensive end Will Cunningham of Cape Coral, FL. Cunningham is Georgia State's 10th commitment so far in this recruiting cycle, and accepted their offer over those of Ball State, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Fordham and Holy Cross.
Cunningham, who has a 3.8 high school GPA and wants to pursue a career in medicine, is expected to play at either defensive end or defensive tackle in college. He committed to Georgia State before he even came to visit campus, which he is scheduled to do on Dec. 8. When he was asked about why he committed to the Panthers before even taking a visit, Cunningham said:
"I just thought it was the right choice for me to make after discussing it with my parents. I’m going there in December. I just wanted to make an early decision because it was the right choice for me and my future."
Georgia State went only 1-10 this season, with their only win coming over Rhode Island, 41-7, in CAA conference play. They finished their season on Nov. 10 with a 51-7 loss on the road to Maine.
