The Georgia State Panthers received one of their biggest commitments in school history when Stephenson High School linebacker Kight Dallas committed to new head coach Trent Miles on Tuesday.

The 6'2, 200 lb. Dallas committed to South Carolina early in the recruiting process, but according to Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Gamecocks rescinded their offer last week. Dallas chose GSU over offers from Cal, Purdue, Arkansas and Troy, among others.

While Dallas is committed to the Panthers, he will take official visits to Louisville, Purdue and Arkansas over the next month to make sure Georgia State is where he wants to play.

Kight was rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals and Scout, and rated as a 2-star prospect by 247 Sports. Rivals named Dallas as the 64th best outside linebacker prospect for the Class of 2013 while Scout named him the 79th best outside linebacker prospect. 247 Sports named Dallas as the 109th best inside linebacker prospect.

According to Carvell, Kight is the 12th commitment for the Panthers for the Class of 2013.
