New Georgia State Panthers head coach Trent Miles has begun putting his coaching staff together. He has already announced that he will bring four assistants with him from the Indiana State Sycamores, including Shannon Jackson, defensive line coach, Harold Etheridge, offensive line coach, PJ Volker, linebackers coach and Jesse Minter, defensive coordinator.
Etheridge has more than 20 years coaching experience, having coached with the Kentucky Wildcats, Illinois State Redbirds, Army Black Knights, North Texas Mean Green, Northern Illinois Huskies and the Washington State Cougars before joining the Sycamores' staff. As the offensive line coach this season, the Sycamores allowed 21 sacks while the team averaged 17.4 points per game and 320.6 yards per game.
Minter also guided one of the best defenses in FCS this year, allowing less than 300 yards per game total. Miles hopes that he can improve upon the 35.6 points per game allowed and 446.8 yards per game allowed by the Panthers this season. As of now, it is unclear how much of Bill Curry's staff will remain with the Panthers.
