The Tennessee Lady Vols opened up a big lead in the first half against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and held onto it in the second half on their way to a 71-54 win in Atlanta. Bashaara Graves led the 20th-ranked Lady Vols with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Cierra Burdick chipped in with 16 points.
Tyaunna Marshall led the 22nd-ranked Yellow Jackets with 18 points and eight rebounds, but didn't get a ton of help from her teammates. Dawnn Maye was the only other player from Georgia Tech to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points. The Yellow Jackets shot 33 percent from the floor as a team, and an abysmal 19 percent from behind the three point line.
Georgia Tech hosts Kennesaw State on Tuesday, and will try to get back to .500 for the season. The Lady Vols next play on Thursday, when they face Rice back in Knoxville.
