Tulane Vs. Georgia Tech Final Score: Yellow Jackets open new arena with 79-61 victory

The Yellow Jackets had some big contributions off the bench in their 79-61 season-opening win over Tulane Friday evening.

Kammeon Holsey came off the bench with an ankle injury Friday to lead the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a 79-61 season opening win over Tulane in the team's first game in the new McCamish Pavilion.

Holsey looked in midseason form, efficiently racking up 18 points and seven rebounds on 7-of-9 shooting in 18 minutes of action. Hosley wasn't quite as efficient as Tulane forward Josh Davis though. Davis shot a scolding hot 12-of-15 Friday evening in route to a game-high 27 points.

That career-best performance went to waste though as the Yellow Jackets had some surprising performances from their freshman class. Newcomers Marcus Georges-Hunt and Robert Carter both started at the forward positions for Georgia Tech, combining for 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Freshman Chris Bolden also flashed some promise going 5-for-10 from the field for 12 points more points off the bench for the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech will remain at home over the weekend with Presbyterian coming into town on Wednesday.
