Early enrollee Solomon Poole could make his Georgia Tech hoops debut on Monday against Alabama State, according to Yellow Jackets coach Brian Gregory.
Poole and Gregory are now just waiting for NCAA clearance. The freshman point guard can start practicing with the team on Saturday. Poole, a consensus 4-star recruit out of Jacksonville, would provide a boost to a Georgia Tech team that has struggled on the offensive side of the ball so far this season. The Yellow Jackets have started 6-2, but are 264th in the country in scoring, at 63.0 points per game.
Solomon's older brother Stacey is also awaiting clearance to play for Georgia Tech. Stacey transferred from Kentucky at the start of the 2012 spring term, so he must wait for Georgia Tech's compliance department to certify him once the fall term ends on Saturday. He might have to wait until the Yellow Jackets' game against the Citadel on Dec. 22.
