The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will get a nice boost this coming week when Solomon Poole joins the team, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Poole had been able to enroll for the spring semester at Georgia Tech after graduating high school a half-year early, and needed the NCAA to clear him for sports.
Now, Poole has the go-ahead from the NCAA, meaning he could make his college debut against Alabama State at home on Monday. However, don't expect Poole to make a huge impact right away for the Yellow Jackets. As a freshman and especially as a guard, head coach Brian Gregory feels that he's better served being eased slowly into the lineup:
"I think one of the big things that’s big with us right now is our team chemistry and different things like that, and I think he understands that. I think he’s willing to do anything in any role that we ask him."
At 6-2, Gregory has the luxury of trying to incorporate Poole a little at a time before Georgia Tech's ACC slate kicks off against the Miami Hurricanes on Jan. 5.
Currently, the Yellow Jackets are 2-0 on a seven-game homestand.
