The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets shook off a slow start against the Chattanooga Mocs to grab a 74-58 victory at McCamish Pavilion on Wednesday night.
The Yellow Jackets (10-2) fell behind, 17-10, midway through the first half before going on an 8-0 run to take the lead. Georgia Tech finished the half strong, taking a 28-23 lead heading into the break. The momentum carried over to the second half, as the Yellow Jackets exploded for 46 points to cruise to the 16-point victory.
Marcus Georges-Hunt led four Yellow Jackets in double figures, with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Robert Carter notched a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Mfon Udofia added 14 points, while Kammeon Holsey chipped in 10 points off the bench.
Zaccheus Mason and Farad Cobb led Chattanooga (5-9) with 14 points apiece. The Mocs were dominated on the glass, giving up 13 offensive boards and losing the rebounding battle, 39-24.
