The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets managed to land another football recruiting commitment, as Jumichael Ramos verballed on Friday night. The wide receiver becomes the second player from Lovejoy High School to commit to Georgia Tech and the 14th verbal in Georgia Tech's 2013 recruiting class.
Ramos is also a star basketball player for Lovejoy, but Georgia Tech likes his athleticism and his ability to go up and get catches.
At 6'3", 190 pounds, Ramos has exceptional athletic talent that Georgia Tech really likes. Ramos likes the challenge of not only being physical enough to make big plays, but also produce as a blocker and open up things for the Georgia Tech offense.
"He’s one of our deep threats, and can stretch the defense," Lovejoy coach Al Hughes said. "First of all, he’s a basketball guy, and he’s got lots of ups (30-inch vertical). He can control his body in the air just like a basketball player. He can put himself in a position to make the catch, and he knows how to use his body just like you would in basketball to block somebody out. He’s a tremendous talent."
Ramos had offers from schools including Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee State and South Florida, but decided to go with Georgia Tech in the end.
