Georgia Tech has hired search firm CarrSports Consulting to assist with the selection of a new athletic director, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Former athletic director Dan Radakovich left Georgia Tech on Oct. 29 to take the same position at Clemson.
CarrSports Consulting is based out of Gainesville and has previously worked with Duke, Texas, LSU, Virginia, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Florida. The firm will work with school president G.P. "Bud" Peterson and the search committee headed up by Georgia Tech Foundation board of trustees member Stephen Zelnak.
Zelnak was a key donor for several new athletic facilities at Georgia Tech, including the basketball practice facility and and football team meeting room. He said Tuesday that the search committee has begun meeting and is taking input from numerous outlets.
Zelnak refused to name any potential candidates nominated by alumni or staff members and acknowledged that it's a "wide-open process."
