Orwin Smith injury: Yellow Jackets RB likely a game-time decision

Smith suffered an ankle injury against Duke last weekend.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets running back Orwin Smith will probably be a game-time decision Saturday, according to head coach Paul Johnson. Smith suffered an ankle injury during the second half of the Jackets' victory over Duke last weekend and was not able to return to that contest.

While Smith is just fourth on the team in carries, he leads the Jackets with 673 rushing yards. He has 14 plays of 20 yards or more this year, and he's scored five touchdowns. He is also the team leader in receptions (17) and receiving yardage (271).

If Smith is not able to play, Georgia Tech will rely on a combination of replacements, which may include B.J. Bostic, Synjyn Days and Deon Hill, according to Johnson.

The Jackets will be trying to spoil any national championship aspirations the rival Georgia Bulldogs might have when they take the field on Saturday. The game is set for a noon ET kickoff.
