Hopes for a Georgia Tech upset in the ACC Championship Game appear a bit bleaker with running back Orwin Smith listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Florida St. Seminoles. Smith missed practice on Thursday while still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in the team's win against the Duke Blue Devils on Nov. 17.
Yellow Jackets head coach Paul Johnson said that if Smith did not practice on Thursday, he would not play Saturday. Smith had been more optimistic earlier in the week that he'd be able to play on Saturday. If Smith is unable to go, the Yellow Jackets will likely shift Synjyn Days, Deon Hill and B.J. Bostic in the A-back rotation along with starter Robbie Godhigh.
The ACC Championship Game between the Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets is scheduled for Saturday from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
