Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson will decide on his starting quarterback for this Saturday's game based off practice this week, according to The AJC.

Tevin Washington and Vad Lee will compete during the week for the right to start against North Carolina on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

"We'll see how practice goes this week," coach Paul Johnson said after Monday's practice. "But I thought they both did some good things (in the win over Maryland). They graded out not very far apart, two or three points apart."

While the quarterbacks split time, they didn't necessarily do much quarterbacking against Maryland last week. Washington finished the game 1-for-2 for five yards. Lee was also 1-for-2, passing for 26 yards.

However, the ground game was much more important for Johnson's quarterbacks against Maryland. Lee rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Washington had 30 yards and a touchdown on four carries.

Washington, who has seen the most time at quarterback for Georgia Tech this season, has 16 rushing touchdowns this season. He has 511 yards on 120 carries.

Lee, in his limited time, has 322 yards and six touchdowns on 47 carries this year.
