Georgia Tech Vs. Maryland Odds: Yellow Jackets open as 7-point favorites

Georgia Tech's offense a key factor heading into Saturday's game against Maryland.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets opened as 7-point favorites heading into Saturday's game against the Maryland Terrapins, according to OddsShark.com.

The Yellow Jackets are 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the ACC. After snapping a three-game losing streak two weeks ago, the Jackets fell to Brigham Young, 41-17, on Saturday.

Maryland is 4-4 and 2-2 in the ACC. The Terrapins fell to Boston College, 20-17, and are riding a two-game losing streak.

Georgia Tech is the favorite for Saturday because of its offense. The Yellow Jackets are averaging 35 points per game this season, while Maryland is averaging just 20.8. Georgia Tech is averaging 311 rushing yards per game.

That rushing attack is led by versatile quarterback Tevin Washington. Washington has rushed for 481 yards and 15 touchdowns on 116 carries. The Yellow Jackets also have Orwin Smith, who has rushed for 434 yards and three touchdowns, and Zach Laskey, who has 432 yards on 79 carries.

Maryland quarterback Perry Hills has completed 57 percent of his passes this season for 1,336 yards. He has eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. He's been sacked 24 times in seven games.
