Georgia Tech looked ready to get back into this game, and went on a sustained drive and had the ball inside the red zone. On first and goal, Orwin Smith dropped the pitch, and looked like he had forgotten that it was a live ball and didn't cover it.
Miami took over, and took 11 plays to get down the field for the touchdown to take advantage of Smith's fumble. Tech's defense forced numerous third downs, but were unable to get off the field. Stephen Morris looked great, finding open receivers and converting the long third downs.
Miami has a comfortable lead, but the two teams have been fairly even on the day, and only a handful of plays separate the two. Tech will be right back in it with a score on this next drive.
