Bowl Projections, Week 12: Georgia Bulldogs Vs. UCF, East Carolina, Or Southern Miss?

If the Georgia Bulldogs beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in two weeks, they’ll become the ninth and last SEC team to become bowl eligible. They’ll likely finished eighth in the conference either way, with a tiebreaker edge over the Kentucky Wildcats. Plus their larger fanbase and star power (A.J. Green!) will likely make them more attractive to any bowls with a choice to make.

Eighth or ninth pick in the SEC goes to the Liberty Bowl, scheduled for Dec. 31 in Memphis. The bowl also takes Conference USA’s winner, meaning both Peach State programs could be taking on C-USA’s finest. The Central Florida Knights currently lead the conference, though the Houston Cougars, East Carolina Pirates, and Southern Miss Golden Eagles are all right in there.

God help us if the Jackets don’t beat the Duke Blue Devils next week, because then Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate will decide which team’s 13-year bowl streak will end this season.
