Duke Blue Devils Vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Score Update: Mario Butler 85 Yard Interception Return Gives Jackets The Lead

Tech started the second half with the ball, drove down to scoring position, the drive stalled, and Scott Blair kicked a field goal. Sound familiar?

Duke got down the field goal quickly on a 36 yard strike from Sean Renfree to Brandon Braxton, who was left wide open on a blown coverage. Safety Jerrard Tarrant made it worse when he slung Braxton out of bounds for the extra 15 year penalty.

Duke was in easy scoring position and could have taken control of the game when Mario Butler jumped a route and intercepted the Connette pass at the 15 yard line and took it back 85 yards for the touchdown. It was the sixth longest pick-6 in school history, and longest since 2006.

Tech really needed that play. Duke had all the momentum, the crowd was quiet, and they were about to score again. The Jackets and the fans are much more fired up now.
