ACC College Football Scores, Week 12: Virginia Tech Takes Coastal Division, Beating Miami

The Virginia Tech Hokies defense forced six turnovers and RB Ryan Williams produced 149 yards as the Hokies clinched the ACC Coastal Division for the fourth time in the game’s six-year history. The Miami Hurricanes dropped an impressive 464 yards on VT’s tough defense, but, again, six turnovers.

Miami QB Stephen Morris, filling in for injured starter Jacory Harris, has looked very Jacory overall. This is his third multi-interception day in four games, and today he added a lost fumble. RB Lamar Miller ran 15 times for 163 yards, leading one to wonder why Miami put so much of this game in Morris’ freshman hands anyway.

The Hokies will celebrate for a moment, then hurry to watch the game between the Florida St. Seminoles and Maryland Terrapins to find out who they’ll play after next week’s rivalry game against the Virginia Cavaliers. Unlike this game, FSU-Maryland isn’t a win-and-in deal for either team, but it may clear things up somewhat — FSU can knock Maryland out of contention.
