ACC College Football Scores, Week 12: FSU And Maryland Tied At 10 Early In Second

The Florida St. Seminoles took a touchdown lead into the second quarter against the Maryland Terrapins, but the Terps just knotted it up with a touchdown pass from QB Danny O’Brien to TE Will Yeatman.

Typically, producing 147 yards of offense in a single quarter is going to result in more than just three points, but a fumble by O’Brien killed a Maryland drive that had gone … well, all of 24 yards, so that’s not it. Who knows.

Without a 70-yard touchdown run by RB Chris Thompson, FSU would have 11 yards of offense. QB Christian Ponder has completed only two passes, with only one of those going for positive yardage.

Both teams need this game to stay alive in the ACC Atlantic Division hunt. Next week’s game between Maryland and the N.C. State Wolfpack will decide who wins either way — FSU needs to beat Maryland and then root for Maryland. But a pair of Terps wins would mean the Terps are in. The Virginia Tech Hokies clinched the Coastal earlier today by beating the Miami Hurricanes.
