ACC College Football Scores, Week 12: Florida St. Seminoles Eliminate Maryland From ACC Title Hunt

The Florida St. Seminoles beat the Maryland Terrapins 30-16 to knock the Terps out of ACC Atlantic Division contention. Maryland was driving into the red zone late, down by seven. But Noles defensive back Nick Moody picked off an O’Brien pass inside his own five, then ignored FSU players and coaches imploring him to get down as he streaked 96 yards for the distancing score.

The Noles caught a very FSU series of breaks in the fourth, from a punt bouncing off the back of a Terps blocker to an interception that was reviewed and upheld despite appearing to bounce off the turf. Other than the burst of turnovers in the final minutes, Maryland maintained slight advantages all throughout the box score.

Noles fans now need to root for Maryland. Next week’s game between Maryland and the N.C. State Wolfpack will decide the division — if Maryland wins, Florida St. will take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in Charlotte.
