Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets QB Joshua Nesbitt suffered what sort of appeared to be an arm injury while diving to tackle a Virginia Tech Hokies defender. Nesbitt lingered on the turf for a moment before heading to the locker room. Backup Tevin Washington has taken over. Nesbitt’s injury is being called a forearm.
Nesbitt is announced OUT for remainder of game.
No pressure on the sophomore Washington, who’s only seen scraps of garbage time action in three games this year. He’s a little bit shiftier and quicker than the burly Nesbitt, though his timing and distribution in the flexbone option attack isn’t quite as polished. Whether his passing touch is significantly better remains to be seen.
In the last game Nesbitt missed part of, the Jackets lost major ground to the Georgia Bulldogs as backup Jaybo Shaw promptly threw an interception in relief. Roddy Jones just broke a 29-yard run off a Washington pitch on Tech’s first second-half drive, so. So far so good, I guess.
