With 2:34 left on the clock, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have tied it up with the Virginia Tech Hokies. Joshua Nesbitt left at halftime and is rumored to have a broken arm — his fill-in, sophomore Tevin Washington, wasn’t able to get the Wreckbone going until this drive, a nine-play, 80-yarder.
Orwin Smith took a pitch nine yards to close out the drive. Good Tech has outgained Bad Tech 352 to 336 and HOLD THE PHONE The Hokies immediately fired back with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by David Wilson. So now Washington has 2:23 to put it in the end zone again. Sigh.
Our only hope: the Hokies D is still winded after giving up a long scoring drive. A couple big plays would put Good Tech in great position, but this Blacksburg crowd has returned to full force after giving a meh effort since the first quarter. The Jackets have all three time outs.
This one’s for Nesbitt. Come on, boys.
