College Football Odds, Week 11: Miami Hurricanes Vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

According to Odds Shark, the Miami Hurricanes started the week as a three-point favorite over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, a line that hasn’t budged yet. Vegas likes the Canes much better than the Jackets, as not many six-win teams would be road favorites over five-win home teams. The most instructive game from each of their resumes: Miami popped the Clemson Tigers, while Clemson pounded Tech.

The over/under started at 49, then inched to 50. That’s still a pretty amazing over/under considering the firepower both teams have when at their best. Vegas is nervous about both teams starting backup quarterbacks, but is slowly growing more comfortable with Stephen Morris and Tevin Washington as the week goes on, perhaps due to reading more about how relatively well each played last week.

Miami has the nation’s 21st-best defense, but this matchup has gone over 49 points in both matchups of the Randy Shannon-Paul Johnson era. Last year it only hit 50, but Tech was playing its third game in 14 days at the time. That over is pretty tempting.
