Virginia outscored Oregon 38-26 in the second half as they powered their way to their fourth straight win by a final score of 63-48. Freshman K.T. Harrell scored 20 points to lead the Cavaliers who were without their leading scorer and rebounder Mike Scott who had ankle surgery on Thursday.
The Ducks shot a combined 34% from the field and were led by Joevan Catron's 16 points. Oregon used a 15-2 run to take an early advantage leading 15-6 with ten minutes remaining in the half. Virginia closed that half with a 19-7 run and never looked back the rest of the way. The Ducks were able to close the gap several times but never could get over the hump.
Mustapha Farrakhan scored 17 points for Virginia with Sammy Zeglinski adding in 12 points including two long dagger three pointers with Oregon threatening.
Virginia will be looking for its fifth straight win when it takes on Norfolk State on Monday.
