Update, 1/2: No idea why this is at the top of Google right now, but Mike Leach will not be the coach of Maryland, as was suggested by the sources linked below and others. Randy Edsall is the new coach at Maryland.
Since the beginning of the story, Mike Leach has been mentioned as Ralph Friedgen’s replacement as head coach of the Maryland Terrapins. Those reports, rumors, claims, and parlay requests have only ramped up since, with everybody from Chip Brown at Orangebloods.com, college football’s 2010 Walter Cronkite (?), to the quarterback of the Serra High School Conquistadors (!) settling on Leach.
Many are mentioning a connection already having been in place between Leach and Maryland booster Kevin Plank, the founder of Under Armour.
Leach piloted the good ship Texas Tech from 2000 to 20009, leaving earlier this year due to the kid from Pony Exce$$. He led the scurvy Red Raiders to an 84-43 record, a Big 12 South title, and three straight ranked finishes in his final three years, all while keelhauling defenses with his record-setting Air Raid offensive passing attack.
He also coached for a while a long time ago at Valdosta State, among other places, because no coach has ever not coached at Valdosta State. Leach has been campaigned for by Donald Trump and done some acting:
