Stephon Tuitt De-Commits From Georgia Tech, Re-Commits To Notre Dame, According To Reports

Monroe Area DE Stephon Tuitt, a confirmed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets verbal commit as of earlier Wednesday when he met with Paul Johnson, has flipped back to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish according to, well, everybody. If the landing of a top-tier recruit this late in the process seemed too good to be true, especially one at a position at which the Jackets have traditionally struggled, it may have been.

Tuitt reportedly met with Irish coach Brian Kelly, defensive coordinator Bob Diaco, and recruiting coordinator Chuck Martin late Wednesday night, then declared himself “100 percent” to Irish Sports Daily. His mother, Tamara Tuitt, confirmed the news and said “He is done with recruiting.”

If these reports are all true, Tuitt made the decision literally hours after meeting with Johnson. "Minutes after" might be more accurate.

The defensive end apparently had some concerns about Notre Dame, which Kelly apparently was able to address. Tech’s recruiting class will now tumble back towards the middle of the pack nationally and the bottom of the ACC, while Notre Dame’s impressive haul shines even brighter. Until tomorrow, am I right?
