The long-rumored aircraft carrier basketball game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Michigan St. Spartans is real and happening in real life. UNC coach Roy Williams confirmed on his radio show that the Heels will play the Spartans on a got-danged boat that is floating in the water on Nov. 11 of next year. That's Veteran's Day, for all you Duke Blue Devils fans.
↵The game will be played in San Diego waters, as the city is home to a major U.S. Navy establishment. Speculated aircraft carrier: the U.S.S. Reagan. The game could also be the headliner of a doubleheader, with the earlier game being a contest between two service academies.
↵Reached for comment, the college football fan thinks this is "some sporting arms-race bullshit." Twitter was a blast during that Wrigley Field football debacle, and will likely be a winning destination again during a basketball game being played on a gigantic $910 trillion war weapon that is literally in the physical ocean.
↵Your move, Paul Hewitt. Time to schedule a game at Hartsfield.
