Georgia Tech Recruiting: Trey Flowers Flips To Arkansas After Weekend Visit

As unearthed from Arkansas Razorbacks message board Hogville here, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets DE commit Trey Flowers did indeed take a secret visit to Arkansas Friday night. And he’s followed it up by de-committing from Tech to commit to Arkansas, days away from national signing day.

Flowers knew he was risking his Tech scholarship offer by taking the visit, as Paul Johnson does not allow commits to take visits. In this case, however, Tech likely would’ve lost Flowers whether Johnson’s unique rule was in place or not, as the Huntsville prospect preferred to play in the SEC.

Arkansas is the only SEC school to have offered Flowers. His other offers came from Tech, Air Force, and schools like UAB and Arkansas State.

Tech’s class is crumbling, especially at it’s biggest area of need: defensive line. Unless Tech fans are willing to hold out hopes that Stephon Tuitt can work his way back to the Yellow Jackets, it’s time to start hoping somebody already on the roster can step up.
