Two of Georgia Tech's starting linebackers, OLB Jeremiah Attaochu and ILB Daniel Drummond, may not be able to play in the Yellow Jackets game this Saturday against Maryland.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, neither player practiced Monday and both were rated as questionable by coach Paul Johnson:
"I don’t know if he’ll play, but he’s O.K.," Johnson said of Attaochu. "We’re not going to have to shoot him or anything."
Johnson said Drummond’s injury "might be a tad worse" than Attaochu. Both sustained leg injuries in Tech’s win over N.C. State Saturday.
Attaochu, a 6'2 235 sophomore, has emerged as a star this season. He was named the FWAA/Bronco Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week after a dominating performance against UNC last weekend, with 9 tackles, 3 sacks, a forced fumble and one pass deflection in Tech's 35-28 victory over the Tar Heels.
If neither player recovers by Saturday, their likely replacements are special teamers Malcolm Munroe and Quayshawn Nealy.
