Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson confirmed that A-back Orwin Smith is "probably out" for Saturday's gameagainst the Duke Blue Devils. Smith missed Wednesday's practice once again with an undisclosed injury that was suffered in the loss to Virginia Tech last Thursday.
If Smith is unable to go on Saturday then Embry Peeples is likely to get the start. Smith has quietly been one of the Yellow Jackets' most explosive weapons this season rushing for 570 yards on just 53 carries. Peebles had a big game against Virginia Tech rushing for 84 yards on just three carries. He has 330 yards and one touchdown on the season.
Smith finished with just 4 carries for 17 yards against Virginia Tech. His biggest game of the season came against Kansas where he piled up 157 yards rushing and 108 yards receiving including a 95 yard touchdown run.
