2011 Sun Bowl Final Score, Overtime: Georgia Tech Bowl Losing Streak Extends To Seven Games

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets saw a 14 point lead in the third quarter evaporate to the Utah Utes and eventually lost in overtime 30-27. The loss for Georgia Tech extends their bowl losing streak to seven games and have not won a bowl game since the 2004 Champs Sports Bowl.

Georgia Tech looked to the Sun Bowl in control when they scored 17 straight points in the third quarter to go up 24-10, but that would be the last points that they would score in regulation.

Utah was able to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter by scoring two touchdowns in the final seven minutes to tie the game. Georgia Tech had one last chance to win the game in regulation with a 48-yard field goal attempt, but the David Scully kick went wide right and the game went to overtime.

In the overtime period Georgia Tech was unable to move the ball and settled for a Justin Moore 34-yard field goal. On Utah's overtime possession they moved the ball inside the 10-yard line and on third and eight John White IV scored the game winning touchdown to give Utah the 30-27 win.
