Georgia Tech Recruiting: Anthony Harrell Reportedly Completes Trade With Wake Forest

That’s how this works, right? No? On the same day longtime commit Airyn Willis reportedly was set to flip from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Jackets are reportedly picking up a commit from Anthony Harrell, a three-star inside linebacker from Tampa who’s been committed to Wake.

Tech needs a surplus at linebacker more than at wide receiver, so thinking of it as a trade makes it seem like a positive event overall. Of course that’s not how these things work, but whatever.

Harrell is the nation’s No. 42 ILB, a Rivals three-star recruit. He had offers from 16 other FBS schools, and Tech fans will approve of a student with offers from Harvard and Princeton, right?

If there’s one area at which the 2011 Tech football class has produced a success, it’s linebacker. Harrell would be the seventh on board, joining the class’ highest-rated player, Jabari Hunt-Days. Al Groh’s 3-4 system needs more than just ’backers, but landing one more sounds pretty good right now.
