Almost-Traded Derrick Favors Just Says No To Nets Colored Socks

It's not often that you turn to this blog and get a look at a couple of basketball player's feet. But sometimes a picture says what a thousand words can't. And former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Derrick Favors made a statement of sorts when he took the court in the Rookies' 148-140 win over the Sophomores in the NBA All-Star Sophomore-Rookie Challenge on Friday night at the Staples Center in LA.

The league debuted their new hideous socks -- that only a dude like Craig Sager would love -- and all the players on the court were supposed to wear the colors of their teams. But Favors -- who donned the Alexander Memorial Coliseum floor for the Jackets last year --  wasn't sporting the New Jersey Nets sock colors.

Instead, the rook -- who is the alleged centerpiece in the mega-blockbuster deal that would send Carmelo Anthony to Newark -- put on a pair of yellow and black socks for the game. Gee, you think that deal may be imminent?

We're a little limited in how we put up pictures here, and you can't see Favors' face in this AP Photo, but you can see Favors reppin' GT's mid-'80s colors and not those of the Nets. (He's on the inside in the picture in the shorts with the Nets logo).
