South Forsyth DE Kyle Travis has joined Georgia Tech’s 2011 football class, with his letter of intent arriving shortly before 8 am ET. He’s expected to play LB in college due to his smaller frame, which currently weighs about 235 pounds, but a shortage at defensive line could force him to bulk up and play with a hand in the dirt. He’s rated as a two-star by Rivals.
He was followed shortly after by Jabari Hunt-Days, the biggest name in Tech’s crop. The nation’s No. 11 outside linebacker and the state’s No. 15 prospect, he’s a six-foot-two, 226-pound powerhouse form Powder Springs (nice!). He had offers from 12 other FBS schools, including Auburn, Maryland, and South Carolina.
Tech has a whole heap of linebackers scheduled to join this class, and Hunt-Days is the most promising. Of course, Travis could end up playing linebacker too. Tech is wise to load up at the position in light of their ongoing 3-4 transition.
