Georgia Tech At NC State Final Score: Jackets Lose 8th Straight ACC Game, Fall 79-74

Georgia Tech (11-17, 3-11) lost its 16th straight road game Saturday afternoon when they fell 79-74 at NC State (15-14, 5-9).

The Jackets were led by Iman Shumpert, who put up team-highs in just about every category. The junior guard had 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Mfon Udofia and Glen Rice Jr. both got to double-digits in scoring as well with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Scott Wood led NC State with 20 points. Forward Tracy Smith chipped in with 18 coming off the bench.

Tech shot 46.6% from the field and 35% from behind the arc. The Jackets trailed by six at halftime, but managed to get it to within three on a few occasions late in the game. With the score 69-66 and just over two minutes remaining, Wood came up with a key steal and a transition bucket to keep the two-possession lead.

The Jackets return to action next Thursday when they travel back to North Carolina to take on last place Wake Forest. The loss just about guarantees the 11-seed for Tech in the ACC tournament.
