Doug Wojcik, despite denying that he’d been contacted by Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets basketball regarding its head coaching position, reportedly interviewed with the school on Thursday, according to Sports By Brooks. The Sporting News’ Mike DeCourcy Thursday reported that Wojcik was scheduled to interview that day.
If these reports from all over are accurate, so much for the idea that Tech has managed to keep a lid on most of its coaching search. Craig Neal and Mark Price are the other interviewees that have been reported at this point, though it would not be crazy to think Dan Radakovich was sort of rooting against Butler this week in hopes of having a chance to interview Brad Stevens.
Tech has just about a week left to hire a new coach, according to its own timeline goals. The Jackets have no comment about the latest Wojcik news.
