Georgia Vs. Texas A&M, Women's Sweet 16: Lady Dogs Look To Pull Yet Another Upset

Today's match up between the Georgia Lady Dogs and Texas A&M rekindles a rivalry between head coaches Andy Landers and Gary Blair. The SEC is familiar territory for Blair who coached at Arkansas from 1993-2003. Over that period, Blair didn't have a lot of success against Landers' Georgia teams going just 1-13. However, that may or may not play into today's game between the No. 6 seeded Bulldogs and the No. 2 seeded Aggies.

The Aggies are a formidable opponent for the Lady Dogs at 29-5 and is led by leading scorer Danielle Adams who is averaging 22.7 points per game. A&M is also led by their experienced backcourt combination of Sydney Colson and Sydney Carter.

The Bulldogs defeated Middle Tennessee State and Florida State on their way to the Sweet 16. Coach Landers has the Bulldogs in the round of 16 for the 19th time in his career. It will take a strong defensive effort to slow down a Texas A&M team that is averaging just under 80 points per game this season. Offensively the Lady Dogs provide a balanced attack led by 12.3 points per game. Seven Georgia players average at least seven points per game.
