Alexander Memorial Coliseum Memorial, Michael Vick, And Sugar Bowl History: Around The Perimeter

Jackets: The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are playing their last-ever game in Alexander Memorial Coliseum right now. The states of the limping program and weary fanbase are in no condition to providing a fitting moment of closure for the gym, which is being gutted in the construction of an essentially new facility. So please just read Steve Hummer 's eulogy.

Falcons: Former Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick (we can keep writing about him indefinitely!) is making himself look like a league stooge by organizing Eagles workouts during the lockout, but I say good for him. Though his effort means less pressure on the owners to let players on team grounds, it's also another piece of evidence of Vick's maturation, and you take everything you can get.

Also, former Falcons DE Chuck Smith is having a tough time after leaving as Tennessee's DL coach.

Thrashers: So we're not the only ones who are put off by TSN's Jets Meter, as our neighbors to the very far north at Hockey Wilderness are sticking up for their Southern brethren.

Dawgs: The Sugar Bowl folk have posted videos to their YouTube of complete classic matchups, including the 1969 game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Arkansas Razorbacks. Via Team Speed Kills.
