The 2011 ACC baseball tournament began with the No. 3 seed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets getting drilled 9-0 by the No. 6 seed Clemson Tigers. Here's the box score [auto-video warning], and you can check the latest college baseball scores from around the country here.
Dominic Leone delivered five shutout innings to take the victory, while LF Jeff Schaus led the Tigers offense with four hits on five at bats, including a pair of doubles.
The Jackets aren't out of the running yet, as the ACC pits teams with the best records from among two pools in the title game. Those pools do not correspond to the Atlantic and Coastal divisions. The ACC is always confusing. Next, Tech will get the N.C. State Wolfpack at 7 pm ET Thursday. You can scout the Pack at 7 pm ET against the Florida St. Seminoles Wednesday night.
