According to a report, former Georgia Tech forward Brian Oliver is looking at several Big East schools as transfer options. The report states that Syracuse, Georgetown, St. John's Rutgers and Seton Hall have all expressed interest. Oliver is from New Jersey so it isn't surprising that he would look for an opportunity to play somewhere closer to home.
Oliver still has four official visits remaining and has not established what schools he will be taking a look at just yet. He is said to be finishing up a summer session at Tech and will take some visits after he arrives home.
Neither Georgia Tech or Oliver has commented on any particular reason for his transfer. Oliver was recruited to Atlanta by former Tech coach Paul Hewitt who was let go after the season. Former Dayton coach Brian Gregory was hired to replace Hewitt and is now faced with the task of rebuilding a Tech program essentially from the ground up.
As a transfer, Oliver will be forced to sit out next season.
