Looks like ESPN has scooped ESPN, as the network is reporting former N.C. State Wolfpack QB Russell Wilson will transfer to the Wisconsin Badgers ... just hours before Wilson himself is scheduled to make the announcement on ESPN. What will they think of next!
(Also, my favorite part of this entire story so far: the Asheville Tourists announcing at the same time that Wilson has left their team.)
Why the move to the Big Ten? Obviously, the young man likes to rock red and white. But I think Wisconsin is about as interesting a destination for Wilson as you could draw up. For a team that likes to power the ball straight ahead, adding a dynamic quarterback like Wilson could unlock some really exciting stuff.
