2011 NCAA Baseball, Atlanta Regional: Austin Peay, Mississippi State Take Victories

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have failed to advance from their home Regional in two straight College World Series, and the third attempt is on to a worrying start. The Jackets stranded approximately 2,500 men on base in a 2-1 losing effort against the Austin Peay Governors that also saw Mark Pope leave the game early with what appeared to be a side injury.

The Mississippi St. Bulldogs took the early game over the Southern Miss. Golden Eagles, 3-0. They'll get Austin Peay in the winner's night game at Russ Chandler Stadium, while Tech has put itself in the tough position of needing a win over a good Southern Miss team to avoid being the first squad eliminated.
