Roddy Jones Injury: Georgia Tech Captain Doubtful For Western Carolina

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets don't have the hardest opponent in their first game of the season against Western Carolina, but it won't be as easy as it could be because they will be without starting running back Roddy Jones. Jones is not listed in the depth chart for this opening game because of an unknown injury and is considered "doubtful for the game by the coaching staff, according to Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Johnson said A-back Roddy Jones is doubtful (undisclosed injury). Jones has appeared and started in all but one game in his Georgia Tech career. Johnson said he was “dinged up.” Embry Peeples would start in Jones’ place. Backup A-back Marcus Wright is also on the injured list.

Jones averaged 6.8 yards on 52 attempts last year and finished with four rushing touchdowns. He was expected to play a larger role with the team in this his senior season.
