SEC Mens Basketball Standings: Georgia Gets First Conference Win

The SEC standings for mens basketball don't show many surprises thus far, as national power Kentucky has cruised to a 4-0 record and the conference lead, followed closely by surging Vanderbilt (who is building acrimony for a huge grudge match). One notable absentee from the top of the standings is No. 15 Mississippi State, who has started conference play with two road losses, at Arkansas and at rival Ole Miss.

Entering Thursday, the biggest games on the conference slate will be Vanderbilt visiting Alabama (7 p.m. ET Thursday, ESPN2) followed quickly by the Tide's trip to Lexington on Saturday to face Kentucky. Georgia got on the board with a home win over Tennessee on Wednesday night, and will host Ole Miss at 4 p.m. on Saturday (SEC Network).
