Baskets were at a premium in Georgia Tech's 70-38 loss to the Virginia Cavaliers Thursday night at Philips Arena. The Yellow Jackets turned in one of their worst offensive performances hitting just 29 percent of its shots and just 1-15 from beyond-the-arc. To make matters worse, Tech was just 9-19 from the free throw line in the game.
Virginia didn't need much offense but got 18 points from Mike Scott. Joe Harris chipped in 16 points and Sammy Zeglinski added 10.
Kammeon Holsey was the only Tech player to finish in double figures with 12 points. Mfon Udofia finished with nine and no one else scored more than Glen Rice's seven. Rice was just 3-10 from the field as teams refuse to let him get off since his early tear to open ACC play.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 8-10 on the season and 1-3 in the ACC. Virginia earns its 15th win of the season and improves to 2-1 in conference play.
