ACC Football Standings 2012: Florida State, Miami leading early ACC races

Both the Seminoles and Hurricanes own one-game leads over the rest of their divisions in early ACC action.

Kevin Liles-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

As the calendar turns to October and conference schedules heat up, attention turns to conference standings, and in the ACC, a few teams have gotten out to a quick start, including the Florida State Seminoles and the Miami Hurricanes.

Florida State and Miami are both at least one game ahead of the next team in the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, respectively, with the Seminoles the only remaining undefeated team in the Atlantic portion of the conference. The Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Tech Hokies remain undefeated in the Coastal division, but have played two less games than the Hurricanes have thus far in the season.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, already 1-2 in conference play, have work to do to get back to the top of the standings.

The Clemson Tigers, already victim to the Seminoles in a head-to-head meeting this season, are the only team at or above .500 in conference play in the Atlantic Division.

Here are the complete Atlantic division standings:
