Georgia Tech interim defensive coordinator Charles Kelly said in an interview Wednesday play-calling responsibilities will be figured out during practice, according to the AJC.

"You kind of do that in practice. The coaches, we meet as a staff and we talk about situations, what we want to do in these situations and we'll go over that with Coach Johnson, so he's on the same page with what we're thinking and he has a lot of input on that. All the other coaches have a lot of input. I'm going to say it 100 times. This is a ‘we' thing."

Kelly was named the interim defensive coordinator when Al Groh was fired earlier this month.

Kelly praised the work of defensive assistants Andy McCollum, Joe Speed and David Walkosky, while Paul Johnson has also provided input. Kelly said, "Dave had some good ideas on protections ... Andy had some good ideas in coverage stuff. It's about making us better."

Kelly, who will be in the coaches box during games, spoke highly of Boston College's offense line. He also complimented Boston College quarterback Chase Rettig, who "does a great job. He does a really good job of buying time in the pocket."

The Yellow Jackets will try to snap a three-game losing streak when they host Boston College on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. Georgia Tech's defense has been a problem during the losing streak, as it's allowed at least 42 points in every contest.

Georgia Tech's only wins this season came against Presbyterian and Virginia.
