Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets commit Solomon Poole could enroll as early as December, NBC Sports reports. Poole is reportedly ahead in his high school classwork, and if he can graduate by December would be able to enroll in Georgia Tech in time to play for the Yellow Jackets midway through the season. Poole is ahead in school and his chances of being able to enroll in time for the 2012-2013 season are given at 50-50.
The 6-1 point guard was consistently ranked as a top-50 prospect before he committed to Georgia Tech in June of 2012. His older brother Stacey Jr. already plays for Georgia Tech, having transferred from the University of Kentucky early in the 2011-2012 season.
Poole is known as an explosive athlete who would bolster the Yellow Jackets' ability to make plays and control the ball. Senior Mfon Udofia, who averaged 9.9 points and 2.8 assists per game in 2011, is expected to lead things at point guard. The presence of Poole would compliment Udofia's skills and open up more plays for the team.
